Fair Skies sir. The Sunday Comics just won't be as funny.

The stars of all entertainment medias are at the age of departure. It truly saddens me as I read of each as they pass. Their medias all were born, in the same era, as technology grew, and they were all of the same general ages. Thus we are seeing their notices in increasing numbers.
Thanks to Bil, and all those, who made us laugh, shed a tear, and brought us their take of the news.

It just don't seem like they are being replaced by "special" people like they were.
RIP Bill.

I know a lot of people laughed at or made fun of good, clean comics like "The Family Circus", "Hi and Lois", "Beetle Bailey", etc. but they represented a different time to me and a more wholesome and worthwhile USA.

RIP Bill.

Dunno if I stirred a hornets nest or not. I didn't intend to. I posted because this was a comic from my childhood that reflected MY life. I will forever thank this man for creating something I can show my kids so they can understand where mom and da's values come from.

I'm also from a "Different" time.

No hornets nest at all. We're just lamenting with you.

I do not know why you would think that P.K. we all agree with you. I always liked Family circus but was probably closer to Calvin from Calvin And Hobbes!

No worriess then, again the lack of "somethin'" strikes again on the internet. My apologies all.

Not unusual, you can't hear the tone and inflection in our words much less read our body language.

+4 Bret from me.

I always enjoyed 'Family Circus', but Calvin and Hobbes grabbed my heart and ran with it.

C+H was good, but I go back far enough to remember reading ""Mark Trail", "Steve Canyon", "The Phantom", "Rick O'Shay" and several other adventure comics. You'd really look forward to that Sunday paper to see what happened next. And that was to say nothing of the femmy-er stuff like "Brenda Starr", "Mary Worth", Little Orphan Annie", "Rex Morgan MD",etc. The funny stuff ran from "Blondie" and "Andy Capp" to "Beetle Bailey" and "Lil Abner", "Smokey Stover" and "Peanuts". Then there was "Gasoline Alley" which I never quite figured out.

When "Dondi" stopped running it was like I'd lost an old friend. Same for "Smokey Stover" and "Lil Abner". Such is life. There used to be one that ran in a local paper that was a farm based series that gave out tips in the dialogue. Can't even recall the name of that one.

Jeeze, I AM getting old!
