I got a Mauser 48, I want to take the ladder out of the rear sight, Got the pin out, How do I get the ladder out now, Thanks- Joe

The end of the " SUPER STRONG " spring must be depressed. It is shaped like a ski ramp , once it is fully depressed, the sight will come out.

I got it now, push down for spring to depressed, move ladder to about 30 deg. and pull out, Thanks- Joe

I've been known to use a C Clamp to depress the spring.

Put a piece of scrap wood on the underside of the barrel.

Then put a tiny piece of scrap hardwood that will fit into the slot and tighten up on the C Clamp to depress the end of the spring.

It should do the trick.

some but NOT all mauser ladder sights have a small elongated slot at the ladder base you can get a screwdriiver in it and press down and with pressure pushing in the direction of the rec and lift the ladder up ,and at about 1/3 up the inside "pin "bushings will line up with the slots in the sight base and it should pull out.
