Before I get too excited here, and since I haven't done a group buy before, would anybody even be interested in a NOE or MIHA mould that throws a boolit like 44man uses for his .475 BFR? The nose length is only .350", so I know that may throw a few off. It has 3 loob grooves, about .150" front bearing surface, 76% meplat, looks like a TANG ogive, and the body bands I beleive are .085" except for the base band which is .070", going from memory. I have a screen shot of Mountain Moulds website showing a close drawing of it I can show later. To keep it simple, I think limiting the variations would be good.

Personally, I'd like a 2 (maybe 3) cavity, plain base, no hollow point, plain jane mould and since I have only NOE and no MIHEC moulds, I'd probably lean toward an aluminum NOE.

I figured this would be the best place to stick this to gauge interest, but maybe I have already run afoul and should have put it in the group buy section? :confused:Take it easy on me please guys.

Also, if there is interest, I'll need some coaching on how to run something like this or who to contact to run (honcho?) it.

My backup plan is to just have a mould made at Mountain Moulds, which is why I was over there drawing it up in the first place.

You put something like this in Group Buy Discussion- here (http://castboolits.gunloads.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&daysprune=-1&f=10)
I did this recently for a .500 S&W mold. It's not getting much interest, but that's how ya find out.
If a mod moves this there, I'll delete my post so's your doesn't look cr@pped on
Good luck finding kindred souls!

Well, it looks like mountain moulds gets my order. Forget the group buy idea.

Maybe that's for the best. If you are familiar with the group buy process it is a six month long process at best. I could be wrong but I really do not think under the best of circumstances anyone has completed a group buy from inception to delivery in any less time than that.

You can't go wrong with Mountain Molds! I have 4 or 5 of them now and every one casts like a dream.

Just make sure the boolit comes out or can be sized .476". All the BR throats I have measured have been .4765" so even .477" should chamber. Mine gets a little sticky if boolits age expand to .478". I have had to size them again.

Get the mountain mold, you wont be disappointed. The only regret I have is not ordering one sooner......

you could always have Tom at accuratemolds.com make one up for you that way it would be in the catalog and those that like it and don't want to wait for it for a year could order it as well

The world is open to us here, so many great mold makers. Don't forget Babore either.
I can't design a boolit on paper but have come up with some good ones plus others not worth the effort. It is a strange world.
But anything that shoots for me is free for all of you that want to try.
Just don't ask for a drawing. I don't want to get cross eyed with a pencil.
