The smaller die set has "McMillan" engraved in scroll

The larger die set has engraving on the stem of what I presume is used to eject the bullet. It says "Porter" with the "P" composed of a bullseye with a small "p" in the center. It has numbers below it "SQ 37x2 1/2" on the first line and "1_6" on the second.

There appears to be 22 caliber and 6mm sizes amongst these six dies. They came with a large quantity of 22 and 6mm jackets, as well as a RCBS A2 press that the previous owner made what I believe is an auto eject system. The smallet dies appear to be the same thread as a reloading die. If I were to guess, the larger dies are the correct size if you take the bushing out of the A2 press, but I don't have a large enough wrench handy to verify.

The bullet was in the box with the dies. I suppose it may have been made with them, but they have grease in places that make the think they are unused.

I am truly as new and green to this as can be, so please forgive my ignorance. Help with the brand, function, worth, etc would be greatly appreciated.

I'll do my best on picture sizing that shows the detail bet doesn't kill the bandwidth. If anyone needs an adjustment or another view, just let me know. I truly appreciate the help.

The quality of the outer finish and the scroll signiture might imply as does the caliber that these dies were made by and possibly for Benchrest usage. :-)

As to worth well benchrest dies would command $500.00 a die for a Point form die like 25 years ago from the old Rocharch die works,,,,so yours are prolly worth
several hundreds of inflated dollers even today to the right people. I suspect. !

Like how many total dies are there ??????????????

Like how many total dies are there ??????????????

Since these came from the estate sale of a long known benchrest shooter, I would have to agree on them being intended for benchrest use. There are 6 total dies. Three of each thread size. Also included are the following jackets:

6-7k (6 full+1 open) J4 .22cal .705"
2-3 k ((1 full+1 bag starting to split+1 open) 6mm .750"
3-4k Sierra (3full+1 open) 22 cal .705"
1-2k Sierra (1 full+1 open) 6mm .740"
2k Sierra (2 full) 6mm .827"

open bags are approximately 80-95% full
