Shot a .375 JDJ (14" Contender with an SSK Arrestor Brake) once upon a time. It was one of those *enduring* experiences...like once-in-a-lifetime made my quota. Shooting from the old IHMSA "creedmore" position, my right hand was about 50% numb after the fourth round.

(I have an SSK Custom Barrel in .375JDJ with the arrestor muzzle brake. I drive a 270 gr Hornady J-word bullet at 1900 fps with just about enough recoil... in my TC.

One of my greatest shooting accomplishments (IMO) was shooting a 100x100 with 10x's on the NRA Timed Fire target at 25 yards (two handed standing) with this at full tilt. As each shot was fired, I could feel the flinch building. After I got five nice surprise breaks, I laid the pistol down on the bench. I had a companion target up beside it. I picked up my S&W 16-4 (.32 S&W Long light target loads) and carefully fired ten shots. Now, with my body "fooled" into believing I was shooting a .32, I picked the .375 JDJ up and fired the remaining five shots. I was able to keep it together and ended up with my "never to be repeated" target...

Ohio doesn't allow bottle neck cartridges to be used when deer hunting (shotgun, muzzle loaders, and straight wall pistol and revolvers, only) so all of my deer have been taken with my .44 Magnum revolvers...:-(
