Hi
As the title says looking for the most accurate load for the Pedersoli 1874 Sharps.
I have used 22grs of IMR 4759 with 20-21grs cream of wheat as a filler, with pretty good results. "BUT"
Just curious as to what else is out there.
Thanks

I use 60 grains of 1 1/2 f as God intended for this cartridge - with excellent results of course.

I would dump the cream of wheat and replace it with Puffalon. You will notice improvement in accuracy. Puffalon doesn't absorb moisture that could affect the powder, and has a high lubricity as it travels down the barrel. In my light chicken loads I noticed a big improvement in group size when I started using it.

420 gr boolit, 40 grs. 3031 or 30 grs. 4198. I add a touch of dacron with the 4198 load

45-70
74grs Swiss FF
CCI Large rifle primer BR-II
Paul Jones 535 gr. "Money Bullet"
0.090" LDPE Wad
WW cases

It's a match winner in the rifle it is made for.

I have three loads that I use in my Pedersoli, the first was 16gr of Trail Boss, the second was 24gr of 2400 and my third is a duplex load of 54gr of wc867 over 2gr of IMR4227. With the Trail Boss and 2400 I am shooting a 405 HBFP and with the duplex I am shooting a 500gr RNFP. I hadn't had a chance to chronograph the 405gr but I did chronograph the the 500gr at 1275fps.
