30TC lead question

I'm wanting to try and load some lead boolits in a 30TC but am short on load data. Is there any reason I couldn't start out with a starting load for a cast boolit in a 308 or 300 savage and go from there?

Starting from scratch is just a bit over my skill set at this time so any help would be great.

That is exactly what I would do with one proviso. I am assuming you are talking about 1 handgun load with a 12" barrel +/-.

If that is the case, choose one of the faster burning powders. slower burning rifle powders will create a terrible muzzle blast from a barrel that short.

Thank you, that is where I will start. Yes it is for a 15" pistol.
