I bought a Model 94 16" barreled 44 Mag. It's an angle eject with saddle ring, and it is stamped on the right side of the receiver (1894-1994). It also has the cross bolt safety. It looks like new. I am just curious as to what the value might be. It shoots very well, I put 5 shots in less than one inch at 30 yards using a crude rest.

I wish I could come across one like that. No idea on value. Guessing $550?

Just bought one myself. Tang safety model out of a pawn shop for $500. Excellent condition. Couldn't have more than one box of shells through it.
Congratulations on your find! Happy shooting

Zim: I bought this from my cousin he lives in Kalifornia. We meet in Pahruump Nevada twice a year, we do a lot of shooting with another friend while we are there. He bought this rifle and two other rifles for $500, he sold the other two for $500. He offered this one to me for $300 + three boxes of 44 mag reloads he also has a Ruger Redhawk in 44 mag so he needed the shells for it. We finalized the deal when we were over in Pahruump Nevada two weeks ago. I knew I was getting a good deal, but I was just woundering what it was really worth. I hope to get to go deer hunting with it next year. I have several deer caliber rifles, but I sure like the way this one shoots.

Now that is a deal! Good for both of you!
I had a 44 Rossi & my stepson has it now. Light & a dream to carry. Ouch to shoot.
I decided I wanted another & found this. Hope to compare them soon. No plans but punching paper. Adds to the collection. The 45-70 will go hunting before this one. Now, I still haven't shot this one. We shall see.
Hope you have a good hunt. What are you planning on shooting in yours? I have a couple Lyman molds. Will see if I have feeding troubles.

I really like the old standard Lyman Keith style 240 SWC, out to a 100 yards it still has plenty of punch. I have had several heavy weights such as NEI's 310 gr GC and Lymans 275 gr GC.
I found out that I shoot much better with the Lyman 240 and it doesn't kick as much. I also have a Lyman 215 GC and I might give it a try, that boolit shoots really good out of my 44 Mag Smith, and my TC Super 14.

Last one I saw at a gun show had a $575.00 tag on it, but could have probably been dickered down quite a bit!

Shot mine last weekend. Didn't like the soft lead bullets. None of my guns do. Too soft alloy. The store bought did fine. Looking forward to shooting more. 50 yards I was busting clay pigeons on the backstop. Lots of fun!
