Quite often...especially as hunting season nears I do what I call 'one shot exercises' where I go to the range....stop at a random location and I take a reading with my rangefinder. I have zeros on my Sharps all the way from 60 yds. back through 600 yds. in 25 yard increments. I'll usually be at a midpoint betwixt known ranges so it's a matter of interpolating the sight setting. I fired this today from 435 yds. with a stiff wind coming from 4 o/clock! Loaded the gear and went back to the house! Nothing like shooting good paper patch ammo!! About 1/2" lower and I'd a smacked the thru-bolt holding my 20" clanger to the mainframe! Bullet 'creased' the head of the bolt at 11 o/clock.

Yeah...I know! The Buff Hunters didn't have lazer rangefinders! But...I ain't huntin buffalo!! In like token.....they didn't drive 400 HP SUVs to their shoots either!![smilie=l::bigsmyl2:

Impressive Rick !!!!

When hunting season open here we kinda restrict our fun shootin ---- in favor of the critters being a little less nervous---------so my practice now is restricted to our 200 yard gun shop range.

I do concentrate on the first shot of the day, its the important one when huntin for sure.

Was the a KIK load ?

Tomorrow i'm going to work thru about 6 different KIK loads with the Postell-----got my fingers crossed

Rick, thats absolutely discusting. If you can't do any better than that, you should put that rifle up in a raffle.

Shucks fellar's, I once new a gentleman, that could knock the fleas off a jackrabbit at 300 yards with his rifle and not disturb a hair on that rabbits back. He too was one of those backwoods type who joined the US Marine's.[smilie=s:
