Any tips or suggestions? I can't remember what the rules are for using the load, and am curious to know if I can get away with it. If anyone has tried this before, please let me know about your successes or failures. Thanks!

I have not tried it with the 500 S&W, but have done it with .45 Colt and .44 Mag--which have smaller case capacities. In my guns at least, I never got any pressure signs or other issues, so cant speak for the 500 from experience, but would think it should at least be safe. But please work up slowly and get info from people with hands-on experience with this round to keep safe. Best of luck.

What is "the load"? I need to work up a load for a 25in Encore barrel. It should be very similar to the 50 Beowulf. I have the 440gr Lee bullet and am in on the Quintaweight group buy but have only loaded J-bullets so far in the Beowulf. 48gr RL-7 behind a 385gr Rem CLHP gives 1700fps.

The caliber is such, that there are many, many "the loads"

Thanks again for the tips and info, but I just don't feel like being a pioneer or innovator in this venture... My fingers, face, and eyes are more important to me than saving a couple bucks on powder. Maybe some other time if I find someone that has tried this combination...
