SInce this thread was opened on the first of this month, I doubt if any orders have even made it to Bullshop yet. Expecting a one week turnaround from CONUS to Alaska this time of year is awfully optomistic in my book.

MK42 is right! If you live in the bush in Alaska and expect the pony express to deliver in a week, you also believe that Santa drives raindeer.

Their mail box is miles from the house. On their website it states that if you are in a big hurry they are prolly not the folks to deal with.
You know I have been getting my mail once or twice a week. The world did not fall apart, bills still get delivered and even paid once in a while.

When I worked with my old uncle a customer asked if he could pick up the pace. Uncle replied, " Mister, I have only two speeds. If you don't like this one you for darn well sure aint gonna like the other!"

Thanks, I needed that. I can identify with that statement. Good attitude in my opinion.

I'm not "expecting" anything. I just love how hard it is to say anything without someone carping on you. If/when anybody gets something in the mail from Dan & Co. please let us know?

leftiye,

I wasn't trying to pick on you.

It is just that I have lived outside the 48 contiguous states, and realize that US Mail delivery is sometimes not all that speedy. I have gotten mail faster on a ship in the North Arabian Sea than I did when I was on Adak, AK due to snow.

You know Dan spent several years trying to find those ROUND BOTTOM bottles,:kidding:

The best thing I have found to do is get a small food coloring bottle and as soon as your order arrives fill the food coloring bottle with Dans NASA lube. Put the food coloring bottle at your casting space and the Bull shop bottle in a VERY conspicuous place. If you do not you will never remember where you hid it 5 years from now when you need to refill the food coloring bottle.

Please do NOT ask me how I learned that?

If you buy a little bitty bottle from NOE for $72-$92 Al will throw in a 2-5 cavity mould to practice with the lube! But sereiosly, I found some small magnets ( about the size of a dime ) and hot glued it onto one of the sample bottle . I just about have to use a hammer to get it loose from my casting bench let alone bump it over !!!

It's a doggone shame that I was caught unprepared and ran out of Bullplate right before they shut down (I don't cast much for the couple of months that it's 110 degrees here). I discovered that the pint of synthetic 2-cycle oil that I had on the shelf worked just as well for me.

Tonyjones,
I think they are the 2oz. size. I got the 3 for 15.50. The way it is supposed to be used I doubt I will ever use an entire bottle of it. The purchase was made using snail mail. Take Care.

kmag,

Thanks for the reply. I thought it was 2 oz. but someone posted they were 4 oz. I actually have enough sample bottles from mould (NOE) purchases to likely last the rest of my life. The availability of 4 oz. bottles would work well mixing with 12 oz. of beeswax to make Speed Green.

Tony

I am sure Bullplate is a very fine product and I don't wish to spoil the owners business. I was casting with a .22 cal Lyman 225462 bullet mold. In this caliber one must cast fast as the light bullet will harden quickly and you won't get a good sprue "cut" if you don't. In one hour I cast 500 bullets from a SC mold. However the lead will smear on the sprue plate...Bullpalte is used to prevent this. However I had none..so I used a very tiny amount of Lithium grease on the top of the mold blocks. It worked like a charm and I had no bubbles on the bullet bases. I had to reapply about every 100 casts or so...a very tiny amount is all that is needed.

I also heard that it was 2-cycle oil and I tried the full synthetic Stihl mix oil. not the same color, but it did work great. Just like the origional. While I am sure there are differences, the Stihl oil worked EXACTLY the same.

Not wanting to get stuck high and dry, I recently tried Amsoil Professional Synthetic 2 cycle. Std oil/gas mix is 100:1. Tells you something when you can use it that thin and still lubes an engine. After 1500 bullets, I noticed no difference. Got an 8oz bottle for $3.25 from a local dealer. I was going to order some Bel-Ray H1-R Racing 100% Synthetic Ester 2 Stroke Oil because it's flash point was much higher but since the Amsoil works, my search is over. Maybe a higher flashpoint has nothing to do with it. 8oz will last me a loooooong time once what Bullplate Lube I have left gets used up or spilled.

I'm good to go!!

P.S. Check Amsoil's website for local dealers. Alot of them work out of their homes. You may have one close by where you can just stop by like I did.

Did your Husqvarna have fuel stabilizer in it. I've noticed that many of the small bottles of 2-cycle oil now seem to include the fuel stabilizer.

I doubt that it makes any difference when you put it on a hot sprue plate or hot aligning pin.

I have a question for anyone who knows what BP actually is. Can anyone tell me if BP has any chlorinated additives in it, or for that matter does two cycle generally contain chlorines. I use SG and BP to lube my bore after cleaning. Dan said it wouldn't harm the bore, but if there are any chlorinates in it I'd like to know.

Thanks
