I bandsawed this out myself, but if you catch your local range when they're getting a batch made, you should be able to order one extra pretty cheap. A little tube, some shaft collars and hardware fiddling and she works pretty well.

Nice! Do you have pictures of your threaded elevation mechanism?

I found this base at a garage sale and machined an adapter so it would fit 1/4-20 mounts. It's the slickest setup I have found. Move it into any posion and throw the lever to lock it in place.

I use camera tripods. got another one yesterday for 1.50. adjusts from about 18 inches to about 5 ft. slides closed and the legs fold.

Wow, that shot looks suspiciously like some of the weapons qual ranges I've been on. ;-)

Pretty simple. A chunk of aluminum angle bolts to the shaft collar. The threaded rod goes through a tapped hole and pushes down on the scope. It only pushes one way, so I start with my image low and adjust it up.

I'm thinking hitting up an amature stargazer might be the best way to go. Those guys love stability and fine control in both directions.

Another option I've been thinking of is a small camera that uploads to a tablet or phone. I'm thinking that would work at any range and be pretty cheap if there was internet signal.

Only one "bay", at our farm in east TX.
