We just hung an old Weaver K4 on my boss's freshly sporterized M98 Mauser. It having been many many years since I fooled with an old Weaver, I forget what the click adjustments stand for. In other words is a click worth ¼, ½, or 1 MOA? Near as I can tell, the scope is a 1950's-1960's vintage one, with crystal clear optics.

Likewise, I just picked up a beautiful old Lyman Alaskan 2½X. I never owned one of these and I don't have a clue what the click adjustment values are on that one either.

Knowing these values could save some time/ammo at the range.

Thanks.

Not so, really. Mount scope. Shoot one round at small dot on paper at 25 yards. Hold gun steady while aiming at the aiming point. Move crosshairs to where the projectile hit WITHOUT MOVING THE GUN. Initialization is now DONE. Repeat at 50 yards. Then again at a hunnert, or where most of the shots will follow for load development. ... felix

Granted. That's my modus operandi for sighting in. Been doing that trick at 25 yards to get close, for decades. I'm just curious for when it's the next step of fine tuning at 100 and 200 yards. Kind of hard to see bullet holes at that distance with a low power scope.

Should be 1/4" at 100 yards.

Almost all Weavers ( that I have seen) are 1/4" @ 100 yds. There were some older target models that were 1/8".

Yes I recall the T-10 I had 30 years ago having really fine adjustments, probably 1/8".

No questions are dumb.

IIRC, The Lyman Alaskan adjustments were 1 MOA per felt click, both W&E.

I once had one in a G&H side mount on a Husqvarna .30-06 boltgun.
