I have yet to get sights mounted on my 91 that I rebarreled in 30-06 short, so I took a diffrent 91 to the range with me today.
This one is a DMW 1900 production that has been sporterized some time before I was born. Has no import marks . The barrel and stock have both been cut with the OE ft sight reset on the shortend barrel.
Bore conditon is about a 7 out of 10 with dark spots in the grooves and very minor pitting throughout. Slugs at 301- 311.

The load was a 311413 gced and sized to 312 lubed with Speed Green over a case full of AA8700 n reformed RP 270 win brass.
This is 3 rounds from 50yrd with the issue sights.

Next one is the same load 5 rnds at 100 yrds with the issue sights. It opened up quite a bit , something I have always found with the 413, it seems to preform very well at 50 but open up past 75.

I think I can work up a decent load tht is accurate at 100+ but not with the 311413. I need to try some 314299 but dont own the mould. The ony moud I have that drops fat enough and is over 150grns is the 413..
I have came to the conclusion that if you push hard and slow even a pitted and worn barrel can shoot cast and still not lead, thats the reason for the AA8700. I have cronographed that load from a 29 inch 91 at 1680 fps with single digit sd. The draw back is it burns a lot of powder and feels /sounds like a cannon.

That looks like some pretty good results.

301/311 is a lot tighter than the M1981 I have here. The bore is .304, and .314 will not yet hit the grooves. I'm gonna look for a fatter slug tomorrow.
