I have the lee 4 die set for 45acp. Can i use them to load 45 long colt? I also have the lyman M-die and lee universal decapping die, would those help?

Chances are the sizing die will overwork your brass. However, somebody (Hornady IIRC) used to market a set of dies that were labled for the .45ACP, .45 AR, .45 Colt and .45 Winmag.

I have an extra set of Lee .45 Colt dies, PM me if interested.

I used a Hornady 45acp sizing die on my 45 colts for awhile thinking I could get a little more "bullet tension" for my heavier loadings. I truthfully don't know if it helped or not. Didn't notice any adverse effects on the brass or loads, but did decide to go back to the regular 45 colt sizing die. The cylinders on my 45 measure .480 (pretty good) and I suppose if they were much larger then brass working could have been an issue. It was just an experiment.

I have the Hornady .45 ACP/.45 Long Colt Titanium dies and use them for both. I use the Lee FCD on the Long Colts. Will get the FCD for the ACP's as well.

Lucky: Is the die set that does 45ACP and 45LC any different than a 'normal' set for either caliber? (Does it include an extra die, or different inserts, etc?)

Years ago when I bought a Lee die set for 454 Cau. it came with a 45 acp sizing die. Lee told me that they did that to get a tighter grip on the slug. I never used it as I found a reg 45 Colt sizing die to use.
I do not know if Lee stills does this.
