This is great for putting the pickled fish or the summer sausage on.

French Bread

5 to 6 c flour
2 c warm water
1 Tlbs salt
1 Tlbs sugar
2-pkg or 2Tlbs yeast
1 egg white
1tlb water

Mix all together (make water warm not hot). The dough will be slightly sticky and soft. Let set until double in size. Punch down let rest 10 minutes. Divide in 2, roll into cigar shape, brush with water, egg white mixture. Slash cuts diagonal into top of loaf. Put on cookie sheet with corn meal spread on the cookie sheet, a French bread pan may also be used
Put into cold oven, set oven to 450, cook for 30 minutes. Eat when cooled at least 15 minutes (This is the hard, part I love that smell.)

Roll into Two balls and let rise a few minutes for Italian style loafs. Divide into 2 or more pieces and flatten for pizza. Cooking times are the same more or less watch the pizza it may cook faster since it’s thinner. Very good for pizza on the grill.

might have to try to make some myself. I buy it all the time at the bakery. My favorit is to split it like sub bread and fry venision cut real thin with onion and mushrooms together and add a ton of cheese and make my own venison steak sandwich. Its probably my favorite way to eat venision.
