Powdermeasure for 550B

Since my purchase of a Dillon 550b i've totaly lost my patience to load with the ol "single-press".
There is however one cartridge (338 lapua mag) that i atleast until now have had to "singlestroke".
Have a conversion- kit for the 338 on order but can't decide wether i should buy the Dillon-belted-magnum-powdermeasure or go with a case activated Hornady/RCBS...?
I mainly use RL22(Norma MRP) when loading the 338.

6 one way, half a dozen the other. Buy whichever is cheapest in your area. Both are excellent measures. I don't know the powder you're measuring, but if it's a stick powder, I would use the Hornady. If it's a ball type powder, I would go for the Dillon.

You already know the Dillon powder measure setup, but for the Hornady LnL, you'll need the powder measure and the case activated powder drop with both selected for large powder.

Or, you could buy the Quick-Measure, that has an optional attachment that allows it to be used w/ progressives like the 550. It will dispense any powder accurately and w/o cutting powder. They also offer the option to have a larger reservoir installed. Check their web site and call to order and answer questions. It ain't cheap, but quality never is.

Yeah, different strokes and sofourth...
Havent got any in my area at all...well theres this dude sellin Lee-stuff for Reddingprices in a neighboring "county" :cry:.
Buying online is the only option.

I load 308win, 30-06 and 45-70 with the standard Dillonmeasures but they max-out at powderlevels well below whats needed for the 338 Lapua(85-100grains).

Bet theyre exellent but way out of my budget...c`mon $300 for one setup for my Dillon:-?

That's a slick powder setup and if I was shooting benchrest, I think I would go for it. Otherwise, it's a bit on the pricey side.

I went the Hornady-route and dont regret it yet...
Use it when loading 338lapua and 30-06. The powder(rl22) sometimes "bridges" when the measure is used as a normal measure but throws nice even throws when on top of the 550.
Maybe the "rattling" atop the press somehow prevents "bridging"?

This is an old topic; I have since added a second QM that sets on the 550 for loading rifle. It works well.
