I am curious if anyone has a favorite cast boolit load using 230-270 grain bullets using the .455 Webley Mark II case made by Hornady which unlike Fiocchi uses a large pistol primer?

I use 4.5 gr Unique with the .455" 265 gr RCBS HBRN bullet seated so the lube grooves are just inside the case.

I am going to try 3.0 grains of Clays with the 265 RNHB bullet and see how it shoots.

One should take into account that the Mk II was originally made for black powder rounds; though the Webley design is very sturdy, it should still be kept at or near black powder pressure (the simplest way to do that is to simply load with black powder and original type hollow base boolits).

I use 4.3 grains Unique, which should be a max load for the Webley. I cast the 265 grain RCBS bullets from 50/50 scrap lead/wheel weights and water drop them. I lube with my home made SPG. Leading is nil, accuracy is good.
Happy Shootin'!

Hi all: Just got back from the range today.. Tried some Lasercast 250 that I use in my .45 Colt in my Webley mk 6.... I loaded with 5 gr Unique in .45 acp cases and use full moon clips.. Was quite impressed with it.. Mike

Cool thing about the Webley and its 260 grain bullet. It needn't go VERY fast to be VERY effective! LOVE those things!
