30 Carbine

I am about out of W680 that I have been loading in the 30 Carbine.
I am also going to a plain base boolit instead of a GC one.
What I need is your favorite loads and alloys for the Carbine.

Round nose from RCBS weighs 120 grains. has a shank for a gas check, but you don't have to use one....depends on how fast you are driving it. I use the gas check and cast using straight wheelweights. Lube is the old NRA 50/50 formula. Powder is IMR 4227....13,5 grains and a slight taper crimp. MV is around 1800fps duplicates GI Ball speed and accuracy. Feeds flawlessly. No leading, burns clean, no lead buildup in the gas port. Keep the cases trimmed to uniform length. Also use the same loads in a Ruger Blackhawk. LLS

i like 4227 but run about 11gr but I use the heaver 130gr Lyman

Having great luck with H110 and 110 gr. bullets. about 2200fps and good cycling. No missed ejects and little kick. :)
