Adjustable core mold?

Does anybody make an adjustable core mold in .375"?

Yes Corbin Does indeed have adjustable core molds ,,,,BUT I thot Someone or several someone's on the forum had made a Mcgiver core mold out of ,,,,,I don't remember.

Anyway do a search of the forum content and see what pops up.

Dident some of YOU machinists gentleman come up with some core molds awhile back ????

I had one till I sold it.

YES yes thats it I remember NOW,,, there are a bunch of YOU fellow swagists out there boring out cast bullet molds and making core molds out of them.

YOU all would think that with the number of Basement and Garage Machinists and experimenters out there somebody would Mcgiver an Adjustable Core Mold together out of some Everyday materials or hardware Store offerings.

I Mean ,,,,,what I mean is ,,,,after looking at a bought Adjustable Core Mold ,,,it looks like that say like a third of it is hardware store makins anyway.

A Core Mold is just a solid cyclinder within a Tube ,,,and I can't believe that somewhere out there isen't the parts from something else that can be retasked to make an adjustable Core Mold on the CHEAP. :-)

Just my opinion ,,,I suspect Im right to some degree. :-)

I will be attempting to do just what your saying when my new to me mold shows up!!

I did not make these but I am sure someone with talent on this board could. These are for individual cores but I was able to make 30 in about an hour including the setup. With a couple of easy changes I am sure more could be made easily. The metal handle needs a wood handle added as it becomes tedious holding it tightly. It also starts to gain heat as you cast. The little stem for the sprue plate needs to be longer to make it easier to tap open and closed. The adjustment of the length is the center screw in similar to the seater die for reloading. The spring bounces the stem back to the original position and remains very accurate. You will see that I started these without heating up the mold completely but with the swage process those little wrinkles will disappear. I cast these once the temp of the lead hit 900 degrees. I use the bottom pour to keep an even temp and used the laddle for pouring. You can see that multiple lengths can be made. These are .310's and the other one I have is .245.

Both of those molds look very nice!! Gives me some ideas for modding mine!

Not sure what bullets you are making, but Richard Corbin (RCE) make an adjustable .360 mold. Which would be used to make cores for .375 bullets if that is what you are after.

His molds are in the area of $100 or so
