Is anyone using candle wax for lube? I have about 2 pounds of it and would like to do something with it. It is really hard and plan on turning it into berry dars formula bullet lube. Just wanted to know others expireinces with candle wax and if it would work.

one thing to consider ... candles come from many different makers and in many different styles as well as different hardnesses and grades of wax , some are fortified for particular use ie; adding a hardener for tapers or adding something to enhance sent release etc and while we can make a lube using candles we cant assure that the next batch of candles will have the same ratio of ingredients thus our next batch down the road could/can be way different

i made a batch of petes poor man lube from candle wax
sure it works , could i repeat it , maybe come close as i have some more candles of the same type but generally repeat-ability is the issue , what if you make this great lube it works terrific , you lube 500 rounds now what do you do when you need to make it again go buy the exact same candles again

i did it because i was being cheap i made 2 quarts of lube , from stuff i already had laying around knowing it i could never repeat it exactly for more than 1 reason the grease i used was a 15 year old unopened can of a grease no longer made

so as long as you enter into it knowing this , and you still want to try it go for it

other wise randy rat has very good prices on bees was and such
