Have any of you priced steel lately? I just priced steel and my go to place I get steel from quoted me a price about 90 percent more than a few months ago. I was shocked, I guess I will really have to shop around again. Well I am just curious what you guys have noticed on steel prices. I can see a jump in prices coming shortly.
Thanks,

Yup.

Wanted to build a truck crane to lift an oryx or other large animal into my truck. Once I priced it out it was thirty percent cheaper to by it from HF.

Haven't priced any steel to purchase but I did just turn in all my clips from my WW smelting into the scrap yard recently. Two 5 gallon buckets full plus an old broken 4 1/2 inch vise netted me $16.

I was going to just throw them into the pile when they guy at the scale convinced me to weigh them. He was right, it was worth weighing. I'm saving anything metal from now on.

wow, and I was going to bring 2,000 pounds of scrap steel to the town recycling center and drop it off (free).......

Maybe I'll bring it to the scrapper instead. Thanks for the tip.

yes, take it to the scrapper, I was going to throw away an old dryer last week, the scrapper gave me nearly $20 for it!
