Im very new to this so how exactly am I supposed to crimp or put on the gas check? Am I supposed to crimp them onto the bullets before I seat the bullet or do I need to place them over the case neck and run it through my sizer die? Do I need a special tool for the installation or can other methods be used? Suggestions?

If you are not using a lubrisizer then I suppose you are using a liquid lube or the old Kake Cutter method. You can just place a check on a flat surface and place the base of the bullet on the check. Tap the nose of the bullet slightly with a soft mallet to make certain that it is seated and the base of the bullet is square. It should self crimp when you size the bullet. Then, just seat. Best to make certain that the check does not go below the neck of a bottled neck case when you seat.

Since you didn't mention what sizer you use, I will tell you what I use. The product is a http://www.lymanproducts.com/lyman/bullet-casting/gas-check-seater.php

I have a old Lyman 450 sizer. I use gas check seat product which I think I bought from MidwayUSA. It just keeps the ram from going down. I put a gas check in the die, put the bullet in, lower the ram and seat the bullet on the check. Batch process and then run the slugs through the sizer.

Great results. I have 6 calibers that I have gas checks for.
