I'm considering a set for a round butt J frame. What's their quality like? Customer service? Good, bad, ugly?

Well this has me a bit concerned, no one has heard of these grips.

I got 2 pr for old new mod Vaqueros for CAS. good stuff fast service no complaints

The Altamont factory is about 8 miles up IL Route 45 from here and an ol' friend's tool & die shop builds all their fixtures and tooling. Dunno much about their retail side, but I do know Altamont manufactures all of S&Ws wood grips and (I believe) Ruger's, too.

I just got a pair of Altamont grips for a square butt 25-? S&W. Fast service, grips are well made, look great. I'm happy !!!

Got three pairs for ruger black hawks. You will not be sorry for buying them. Great quality, perfect fit, and really good looking.
