I have been having trouble finding load data for this bullet.I have only been reloading for about 1 1/2 years and would like to find some data rather than just experimenting on my own.if anybody can tell me where to find load data for this bullet I would appreciate it.I will be shooting them in a ruger blackhawk with a 5 1/2 barrel.looking for loads aound 850 to 1,000 fps.I have unique right open to trying other powders..thanks

9.5 grains out to put you there with unique in a a45 colt case out of a large framed ruger. Out of a colt or small framed ruger id stick to about a grain less

Can't help you with 2400 or 4227, I found 20 grains of H110 behind a 300 grain Saeco works well in my Colt Anaconda and Rossi 92.

Somebody on here - Chargar or Bruce B, maybe - recommended 20/4227. I tried it, and it was OK, not great in my Ruger. That was before I realized that "OK" in my Ruger WAS great.

I've got very good results with 9.0 power pistol and win primers in my redhawk and 8.5 in my colt new frontier.4227 is a good powder in 45 colt also.20.0 grains with that powder and mag primers usually makes a good load.Unique works well in 41 and 44mag and 45acp but not that good for me in other handgun loads. The rcbs 300GC mold is excellent also and I really like both in 45 colt.2400 works well also for full power loads.

hard to beat 20-22 grains of 4227 in the 45 in a large framed ruger 18-19 grains of 2400 is a good load for the same gun aa9 is another real good powder in the 45 colt. Lilgun and 110/296 are good too but ive never got the accuracy with lilgun that ive gotten with the rest and 110 is to load specific as it cant be downloaded and needs mag primers.

Any Recommendations for my S&W .45 Colt Mnt Gun?

9 grains of Unique, Universal, or Power Pistol would probably do nicely. I also like 8 grains of 231. I don't have a S&W Mtn Gun though, I shoot my loads through a 7.5" Redhawk. I have been VERY happy with Power Pistol in my Redhawk with the 270 SAA bullet. From my experience it's every bit as good as Unique accuracy-wise, but it doesn't leave my gun caked with crud and it meters much better.

I use 19 gr 2400 with the Mihec copy that weighs roughly 282 gr. I use that load in a Ruger New Vaquero too.
Shoots well too. No magnum primers though only with standard primers.
