Just put a 5.8 pound chicken in the oven its standing on a can of beer, can has rosemary, thyme, & marjoram in it. Skin basted in melted butter & sprinkled with paprika.
One of our favorite ways to make chicken, it was to tall to stand in the grill.

HA! Great minds think alike! I did the same thing at almost exactly the same time. I just sat down to eat mine with some corn on the cob and roasted potatoes

I cooked corn on the cob last week in the microwave about 7 minutes for 2 ears, I then did what this youtube video did, corn was good and it really worked. BTW told this works for grilled corn also.

10-4, I would like to make a bigger rack for the oil can like the ones I have for a regular size can.

I haven't made beer can chicken in a while, I am so busy. I have been opting out for the Wal-Mart rotisserie chickens, I always try to get one that has come out of the roaster within and hour and a half or less. They are delicous, a good value (Great Value, eh?), and you can do alot of different things with the meat. Chicken salad, BBQ sandwiches.

I make a pretty mean copy of the Wendy's Asian Chicken Salad, my daughter says so...

Another thing I miss is deep fried turkey for Thanksgiving. I haven't done one in 3 or for years, and they are SO good.........:violin:

My son makes this often. He always adds about 3 cloves of garlic and always a half can of beer.

Either this or under bricks on the grill are my favorite ways.

Haven't tried the herbs in the can, though. have to try that.

I love beer can chicken! I did these on the smoker for 4.5-5 hrs with mesquite wood. I injected them with jalapeno butter marinade and rubbed a mesquite seasoning on the outside...mmmmm!

For those that what to try this the 1st time a hint is to spray Pam on the beer can it will make things easier later.
AZ-Jim those look great. I couldn't stand these up in the smoker to tall for the lid.

I add some liquid smoke to the beer as well.

A pineapple juice can under a Cornish game hen is good also. Empty 1/2 of it out.

Does your son put the garlic cloves in the beer?

it is too bad BeerCanChicken cooks them upside down.

chicken is so much better cooked breast down... Same with turkey.

I always cook my turkey breast down, and turn it up for only the last 1/2 hour if I want to brown the skin... usually, I peel the skin off and toss it.
it does make a difference
