Would anyone, by any chance, have and be willing to sell a 54 maxi ball mold?? If not, would you know anywhere i might find one to purchase?? I have found some Lee REAL molds in 54 but I have always shot the T/C maxi ball style, so i'm kinda partial to it. Thanks for your consideration.

Of the two, I prefer the R.E.A.L. I got one in .54 for my CVA mountain rifle. That is an early one with 1/66 twist. It works real well. I fired about 20 with Clover Valve Lapping compound, and the bore is real smooth. It had sat for about 20yrs before I got it. The Lapping compound really helped.

Looks like they aren't making 54's at lyman any more. Track of the wolf is still selling some with long lead times:

BALL-54-MAXI
bullets, .54 caliber, T/C Maxi-Ball, hand cast pure lead, 420 grains, per 20
$8.99

Lee and Lyman still have Minie Balls and Lee has reals. Kinda wierd on the .54's.

Well, you won't believe this but I have a mold and handles still in the shrink rap package. It says on the back of the package No. 7292 .54 cal. maxi ball. I have had these for a few years.

Messed up on ebay many moons ago. Thought I was ordering 50 cal.

If you would consider selling it... i would consider buying it. Again, it will keep me from having to shoot rocks from my muzzleloader this year.

If you haven't bought a mold, I have ~75 54 Maxi balls weighing about 410 gr and 34 weighing about 425 gr that I would sell as I have no use for them. Also think I have a new T/C mold.....someplace.

I'm really new to this site. Just joined..........are you still looking for the .54 cal Maxi Mold?? I just sold my Rem. 700ML so I have one available. I'm going down to .50 cal....you can't find anything for .54 cal any more.

Let me know if you are interested in that mold. I also have a R.E.A.L Lee 300gr. with handles.

Thanks

Phil

Wanting to get into muzzleloading finally. Would like to get the Lyman Trade Rifle in .54 cal., but would like to secure a supply of T/C Maxi-Balls first.
it appears I waited too long to get one from T/C so I am also looking to find a T/C Maxie-Ball mold.
maybe someone should start making them again. :)

I dug up a Lyman great plains 54 mold for the rifle I got at an auction. 54 cal stuff is just not that easy to find alot of the time.
