Mine is a Smith14-2 Target Masterpiece made in 1968. The trigger breaks like glass, and the action is smooth as butter. She likes semi wadcutters over 3.2gr of Titegroup.:Fire:

Well it's not pretty, been rode pretty hard and has over 70K through it but it will still average 3"@100 yds. Been back to S&W, had the barrel turned in a turn but it still keeps on tickin! It's a 14-3 from the early 70's that I shot a bit of PPC with and now use for Hunters Pistol at our local club. It and a Belgian "Light Twenty" A5 are 2 firearms I will not part with.

Dang dude, that's got to be the dirtiest revolver I've ever seen. But it sure shoots good though! I'd be happy if my Model 14's shot that good at 50 yds!

What loads were you using to shoot those targets, I can't read your writing.

The load is 4.2/Bullseye/H&G #39 158 gr. RN. Listed as a max std press load with the Lyman 358311 in the Lyman cast handbook. The H&G 39 is almost identical to the 358311 and it runs right at 900 fps out of my gun. Been shooting that load for many years, very accurate also in my Ruger GP .357.

By way of 38 Target...By that I suppose one with adjustable sights.

1970 Smith K-38 - 6"
1957 Smith Combat Masterpiece - 4"
1947 Colt Officer's Model - 6"
1956 Colt Trooper - 4"

I have about a half dozen more Smiths and Colts in 38 Special but with fixed sights.

Man, my 52-2 is downright ugly compared to the ones already posted. It shoots good though.

I'll have to grab some photos of my .38 target guns sometime soon...

Whistler,

Those Nill Grips look amazing! What are the details of your revolver?

jlj: It is a German license build from Wischo, the model is called Target Champion and is available in most models (686, 629, 627 etc). The unfluted cylinder is common in these models, but sometimes you see one with the traditional flutes.

Front and rear sight are from German custom gunsmith Ralph Merkle (you can slightly see the "Merkle Tuning" logo on the sight base hood).

The barrel weight is made by a Swedish company called SCORE. My nickname is laser engraved on both sides, also by SCORE. They sell directly to customers if you e-mail info@umeareklam.se (if so, you can refer to my name and they will know what you mean).

I use it for PPC competition, shooting a SAECO 148gn DEWC with 5.1gn of VihtaVuori N32C. Best score so far is 1474 out of 1500.

I have an Officer's Model Target x 6" that gets some range time now and then. It enjoys #358429 atop 3.5 grains of WW-231 for about 775 FPS and I can't do the gun's accuracy potential justice with my skill set--which limits the gun to about 2" at 25 yards.

Mine is a 686 with a Jarvis underlug. It has a cranelock, ported barrel, and action job. I really like the Lee 125 rnfp pushed by 3.5 of Bullseye in a 38 Special case.

It shoots good enough that my buddy quit putting cigarettes out as targets at 15 yards because I kept hitting them. My wife loves shooting this gun and load.
