This pistol is slowly becoming one of my all time favorites. I liked it so well I posted it on one of the S&W forums. I took the SW1911 out for a little practice this morning and this makes 200 rounds through it so far with absolutely no failures and some fne groups with several bullet/powder combinations. These were at ten yards laying the pistol across a rest...wish I could shoot like that off hand. They didn't have my fasvorite targets today so had to get the smaller one. The bullseye is 2 inches. Most groups were less than 1 1/2" c-c with one opening it to 1 3/4" but one group was just 3/4".

Universal and 231 are a favorite. I was surprised at the good group with HS-6 and the 200 gr TMJ SWC Speer bullet-the only jacketed bullet I tried today.

I've read quite a few reviews that say that S&W 1911's are some of the best 1911's ever made. They are supposed to be on par with upper end Kimber and Springfields. The new E-Series are supposed to be VERY high quality, like a Les Baer.

a friend just got a E series a few weeks ago , i was impressed! alot of gun for $1,100 and accurate to . where were these gun 25 to 30 years ago we had to buy a new one and throw everything away except the slide & frame and build one that would be that nice .
I had well over $1000 in modifying them years ago when gas was about a dollar a gallon !
