ok guys this is a bullet that i need to see what it is. this is the first of many steps that i need to do for a long project i want to start. here is the picture http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m80/jballs918/CartConv01.jpg hopefully this worked right. i need to know what it is and also i have this pulled from the article. They both use the bullet I have listed (a .44 cal. 320 grain LFN-PB LBT bullet from "Penny's Hand And Machine Casting) and Federal Large Rifle Primers. The bullets are listed as a .44 cal. 320 grain and Penny's stock number 310429 SSK sized to .431. The current price is $9.00 per hundred plus shipping. They may be ordered from." so please if you know what this is or have a good idea of a mold that is really close please speak up. thanks for all of the help.

This looks to be an LBT mold as stated, a lfn [long flat nose] 320 gr bullet. Available from Lead bullet Technology, Veral Smith owner operator. He has a site but not sure what or where it is. His molds were excellent 10 years ago and I believe are still a good mold now. Gianni.

I suspect that is a mold made by SSK, their model number 310429 SSK. I don't think they make or sell molds these days but they can probably tell you who that design has been licensed to, probably LBT. Run a group buy for a copy of that bullet, it is a nice one.

Have you inquired about the bullet on the Vetterli forum at swissrifles.com? Someone there may be able to help you.

SSK moulds were made by NEI (I have a four cavity .44 bullet mould from SSK via NEI).

As an aside, Penny's is no longer in operation. He passed away 2-3 years ago.

Jason, inasmuch as it was made by NEI moulds, you might want to look over their .429 molds and order one from them. Here is a link to their .429 molds. http://www.neihandtools.com/catalog/index.html I could not find that particular bullet listed but that doesn't mean anything; they will cut it to give you whatever diameter you want, cut it deeper to make it heavier, add or remove gas check shank, however you want it. Pick a good looking bullet and have them customize it for you in aluminum or iron.
