Anyone here cast and load for a Browning B-92 in 44 Magnum?

I use VV N110, still figuring out a decent load with it though, 18-20 grains over a 250gr bullet is what I am working on.

If we had 2400 here I would use that and the bog standard keith load.

B-92's in 44 mag are notorious for being poor performers with cast bullets. I think the combination of shallow rifling and large throat play havoc with cast bullets. The throat is so long you wont be able to cycle the round if the bullet is seated to reach the rifling.

What has worked reasonably well for me is using large diameter bullets cast reasonably hard. The larger diameter (0.434) seems to centralise the bullet in the cavernous throat and provide some semblance of accuracy with 300gr pills. I also think that the long pill is able to reach the rifling while the base is still supported by the case which has to be a good thing for accuracy.

Mine would shoot very well with black powder and the #429421 Keith bullet cast from air cooled wheelweights. But it shot quite poorly with smokeless powder. I slugged the barrel and it measured .432" across the grooves. No wonder! So I got a .432" mould from Ranch Dog, 265gr. gaschecked number. Without the gascheck, water dropped wheelweights, loaded over a full case of H110 it shot quite well. It wouldn't shoot light loads though, probably due to the slow twist and heavy bullet. Since it wasn't much fun to shoot with above book maximum loads, I sold it and got a .357 mag version. It won't shoot pistol bullets with smokeless either, but does very well with rifle bullets. And yes, it shoots great with black powder.

Mine does well with 10 gr Unique under a 429421. Have not done much testing with it.

The problem is that while the boolit shoots well, it is too long to feed from the mag. . . .

It will work if you crimp it over the front driving band....
