Today we were able to use the casting equipment that my brother and I have made. We built a reinforced stand to use in conjunction with our Basspro Fish Fryer Burner. The stand on the Fryer was not strong enough to hold a propane tank pot full of liquid metal. We also tested the variety of ingot molds that we have built.

Here is the burner and stand, it may be a bit over built, but you can never be too careful when you are dealing with molten metal:

Here is a example of each style ingot mold that we built:

From left to right, there is a 2# angle iron mold, a 4.25# angle iron mold, a stainless steel condiment cups mold, and lastly a 0.5# angle iron mold.

I intend to use the larger molds for bulk storage of alloy, the condiment cup mold is for SOWW, and the small angle iron mold will be used for COWW.

After the first test of the stand and molds, everything seems to be working very well. I could not be any happier, it's great to finally see the fruits of our labor!:bigsmyl2::bigsmyl2:

No truer words have been spoken. You are so right !
I'd much rather have it " over-built " as the reverse.

That looks very nice, it should offer you MANY years of good dependable service.
