How do you tell a Zinc stick on from a lead stick on?

I went to Google, clicked on 'Images', searched for 'Zinc wheel weights' and found this. The 'Zn" stamped on the weights stands for Zinc.

Yep, so far ALMOST every WW I found that was zinc had the Zn mark on it.
(Maybe 2 did not.)
Stickons are easy to test with a wire cutter or pliers, zinc and steel feel about the same.
After you test a lot of WWs that way you'll be able to spot the zinc ones by eye.

I can't say it will be true every time but most of the Zinc and steel stickons I have sorted out of my first pile of weights had the weight stamped on them, the lead ones had the weight in raised CAST letters. Might work for a quick check. Note I am a third generation "junker" and can usually tell by feel what the metal in my hand is. (Not alloy percentages but pewter vs. "pewter", zinc. "pot metal", Babbitt, etc.) Literally learned it on my grandpa's knee 50 years ago.

if it bends easily its lead if its stiff use cidecutters to see if the alloy is hard , if it cuts in to the weight easily it is lead . if it goes paint deep only , its zinc
