I have been running an idea around in my head for a while .
It is giving me headaches, so I either have to drop the idea or try it out .

Sorry about being vague , but if this works I just might be able to make a few $$

I have access to the needed zinc at low cost or maybe free , so I have that covered.

At what temps would I have to run to cast Zinc ?

Any health problems I need to know about ?

And here is the odd ball question, that I may have to ask elsewhere.
What are the electoral conductive properties of zinc ?

Thanks
Johnch

The only thing I can tell you is that you can cast bullets with it out of an old Lyman Mag 20 and it make light lousey bullets.

I would think zinc would conduct electricity well. I'ts denser than aluminum, so should haveless resistence. The melting point is higher than lead, but is easily done with my Lee pot. DALE

Ive casted zinc with my mag 20 and got real good bullets the trick to it is to run it wide open and keep your mold real hot. Just dont know how much use the bullets would be as light as they come out. Make sure you clean your pot and molds real well when your done so they dont contaminate your lead.

Zinc needs to be pressure cast. Die-cast parts, which is basicaly zinc, are cast under pressure like plastics are. That's why we get bad bullets when we get zinc in our alloys.
