Hi

I have a friend of mine which is selling antimony lead ingots ready to cast , my question is can i buy scrap lead, make it into ingots and then alloy with these antimony lead ingots and what will be the ratio.

Yes you can. As for hardness/recipe we don't have enough info.

Most people like to mix a final batch in a pot and have it ready to go in ingot form, I prefer to keep my alloys separate and mix as I go, just a thought. I never know what kind of boolit i may choose to make 10 years down the road.

You can probably just add some tin or solder to the antimonial lead and cast it.
The problem is that we do not know the % of antimony in there.

Rotometals has a product that they call antimonial lead that has 4 to 6%. If that's the case, then you could add 1 oz of tin or 2 oz of 50/50 solder to get it to @ 0.60% tin. That should cast like wheel weight lead.

Ask your friend for some more info. What did he melt down to make those ingots?
