Are you speaking of their gas checks? Years ago the Hornady gas checks crimped on the boolit and the Lyman gas check did not grip as tightly. I think this is no longer true. I buy Hornady because I can obtain them at a lower price.

I can't find my source right now, but I seem to recall reading somewhere that Hornady makes the gaschecks sold under the Lyman name these days. If so, it would seem that the only difference would be the packaging. Does anyone know if this is true or not? I may have read this in an earlier edition of the Lee book that I no longer have.

Hornady is still a snap on type check, Lyman weren`t. I haven`t used Lyman in many years for this reason. For some reason now Lyman cost about 25% more than HornadyRobert

The older Lyman checks were "slip one", but the current ones are "crimp on". I understand they are made by the same folks.
