Back home! Went out and sawed logs with my dad. Had 27 logs we had to get sawn. White and red oak and a few black walnut and hickory. Took 2 weeks but it is done and stacked in the loft.

Yep we have a Timber King Bandsaw Mill. Put up more than 1500 board foot of good lumber and a bunch of 4x4 posts out of the not so purty stuff.

And cleared brush around the pond, burned the brush piles, made fire wood, repaired the log splitter and brush hog...

I think you've earned the right to saw some logs now that you've sawn the logs ...Ray

I sawed some timbers from an old textile mill. The portable mill would handle 24' timbers 12-16" wide. Spent an hour with a metal detector and a chisel and a hammer and vise grips and cats paw and flat bar/crowbar to remove all manner of metal from the timbers before sawing. Cut enough to floor 2500 sqft, panel the 12'x14' library with 5 piece crown and built in cabinets and shelves. Wrapped the fireplace and saved an exceptional piece for the mantel that is 16"x 2"x96". Foyer and dining room are 3-4" quarter sawn. All this is heart pine. I have felt your pain.

Congrats! Get some rest and call down to my area. Gibson just went through a leagal wringer over imported wood. Talk to them and you may get some $$$ out of it. The music industry is always looking for quality, market it there too.

Man I wish we had some hard wood up here!
Poplar, Spruce and Pine is about all we have in my area.
Oak, Walnut and Maple makes me cry when I have to go out and buy a board or two.
Bought a piece of Walnut 1 X 10" X 48" and layed out just about $100.00.
