Depends.
individual ww can range from 9 BNH to 12 BNH.
Put them all in a pot, just a little over 10 BNH

We have a couple members that cast boolits professionally. They may chime in as to their procedure to get uniformity. I doubt that some of the fellows that cast as a side line do anything special. Of course that will soon change as lead WW and linotype disappear from the scene.

Reminds me I have to go check on my supplier!

yes , I agree with this clip on wheel weights , only will have this value ..9-12 bhn water quenching will change crystallization making the boolits harder guessing @ 16-19 bhn ...stick on lead is soft so i melt separately for ingots stick on are just a little harder than pure lead , but good for black powder/ muzzle loads .. i think it is around 4-5 bhn

I never saw a straight wheel weight.
All I have ever seen were curved to fit the rim.... :bigsmyl2:

There ain't no sucha thing as "straight WW's". WW's are all mixed up and unless every one is from the same manufacturer, they will vary.
So that's why a hardness tester is a good idea to have. [smilie=p:

Well, clip on WW's in the Bhn range of 9 - 12 never came in any of the buckets that I scrounged totaling over 800 lbs. Believe this is maybe the hardness decades back because it is in all the reference tables.

Aged over a year, the batches of weights I have tested in 2 different flavors: Bhn 13.5 and 15.4
