Trying to determine a good starting load. Will use in a 4" 586 and a Marlin 1894C. I am trying to get 1200FPS in the 586 and 1500 or so in the Marlin. I know there are better powders but I have Blue Dot and I wanted to use it. Thanks

Good luck........I really don't have any recommendations other than looking at current loading manuals.
I'd be very tempted to move to alternate powders however.
As you're aware, Blue Dot can be a little " touchy ".

I've had good luck with about 9.5 gr blue dot for accuracy with my lever and my taurus 357 4" with the lee 158. I Pushed it up to about 10.2gr and started to get leading with my HT WW.

Not sure what the Lee will cast at but my 1894 thrives on the fatest bullet that will chamber. I shoot them .3595 at .360 they start wanting to hickcup slightly when feeding. I use Lil Gun to push the 160 to 1800 fps and the 180 to 1700 but that is with a gas check.
I have not had real good luck using Lil Gun on reduced loads so Blue Dot may be a better option as you sugest.
