A buddy of mine just picked up a minty S&W 25-2 this weekend for 400 bucks. Why can't I find a deal like that?

I can't complain, I just picked up not too long ago a new old stock 6" S&W Model 28 for the same price your buddy gave for that M25.

Don't feel bad. Twenty years ago I sold one that had been tuned by Ron Power for $325.00.

More often than not you don't find deals like that, they find you. ;)

I can't really complain. Couldn't have happened to a better guy.

I was lusting for a 625 on Sunday at the show in Marlboro $750 but I was a Jerry Mickulik modle and I was wondering how much am I paying for Jerry's enitials on the grips. Ended up not buying it, but I wanted it.

A 625 is a jewel. I bought a five inch and then a three inch 'way back when in the late 80s/early 90s and S&W's "gun of the week" period. Got 100 RANCH PRODUCTS moon clips for them too. AND so far I"ve been smart enough not to trade them.

Yea, I would love to find a deal like too but let me tell you about getting ill. Back in the late 80's a friend of mine was a reserve Policeman on the local department, he had a beautiful Smith 625, may have been a 25, as his duty weapon and I couldn't tell you how many times I told him that if he sold it I wanted first dibs.
One day a couple months back I was talking to his brother and I told him how disappointed I was that the guy sold that Smith and never gave me a shot at it. He said "You're disappointed, it was my gun"! He had loaned it to him to use and when the loaner moved out to Montana the loanee traded it for a coon dog.

I felt a little better about not getting a chance to buy it after that.

Did I ever tell ya'll the story about the pistol I traded a mangy ol' coon hound for?
