KTN,

That should work just fine... Are you going to add something so that it collects/deflects the trimmer shavings?

Did you make the cutter or buy a Giraud?

I have a modified Gracey with a Giraud cutter and am very happy with it.

Garandsrus,
I think I will put stainless steel cover over it.It's all homemade, exept ballbearings and screws:-D ,and it does work.I tested it with cordless drill and it took about 3-5 seconds to trim and deburr case.Maybe I even learn to like case trimming with this:mrgreen: .

How is the case located in order to assure each case get trimmed to the same length?
Also does the cutter have a stop? Some photos of it dissassembled would be nice. Nice work. Thanks

Dragonrider,
case "headspaces" on chamber from shoulder and cutter trims it to lenght.Adjustments are done by moving the chamber.Best part is it doesn't need any shellholders.Just pick up case to your fingers, stick it in to chamber and toss it to finished cases pile:-D .

Here´s a picture of finished trimmer.Electric motor is from old waterpump. It took 3 minutes to trim 100 .223 cases with it.
I LIKE IT.

Keep talking like that and I will send you all of my brass to trim. It took me 4 days days to trim 200 rds of .308 brass. Didn't work full time but it is mind numbing.

................Cartridge case maintainence has GOT to be the bane of an otherwise sublime hobby. One time I left a bunch of Federal 8x57 cases go long enough that chambering the round put a nice crimp on the casemouth. Of course the boolit couldn't straighten it out when it was fired so there was some boolit trauma there! Good thing I wasn't firing full pressure jacketed stuff. Of course I'd have had to beat the bolt handle closed with a hammer.
