My new TVM rifle showed up today. Now I need to get out on the front porch and do some shooting.

Overall I think it looks pretty good. Only time will tell when it starts paying for itself in venison!!

I know it is tough to take pictures of a rifle that is so long. But it does not feel long when I shoulder the rifle. It actually feels pretty light and handy. I was aiming at things out the window and the rifle was rock steady.

I don't know if that is because of the swamped barrel or not. But it feels extremely comfortable. Tom.

Beautiful rifle there Tom! I love the figure in the wood. Tell us more; style, caliber, etc...

Your right about swamped barrels, I'll never have another muzzle loader without one. They just balance SO well!

I'm with Dean. Swamped barrels are definitely the way to go! They hold sweet!

They put the lock on the wrong side![smilie=l:

It's an Early Lancaster, Left Hand flint lock. 50 caliber, with upgraded wood. (per his post on the muzzleloading forum . . .)

It is a nice piece of wood, I wonder what it weighs? Is that a "C" weight barrel? Rice? GM?

BEAUTIFLE rifle! What do you guy's mean, when you say the rifle has a swamped barrel?

Look at these charts:
http://www.ricebarrels.com/chart.html

You will see that the breach is thickest, it tapers down near the middle, then flares back out at the muzzle . . .
