Good starting load Lee 300 gr. 454

I just got a new Lee 300 grain bullet mold and I casted about 500 boolits. I was looking for a good starting load for 454 Casull so I can work up a load. I wanted to use the load for this years deer hunting season. I have been shooting jacketed 300 gr. Hornandy with a load of 31grs. of 296. I was wondering if I use the starting load that I used for the Hornandy 300gr.would be a good place to start?

My taurus really likes this boolit. Gas checked with 26 to 27 grains alliant 2400 works really well with air cooled ww and lla/jpw mix. Recoil is much less than jacketed and imo shoots better. Always start low and work up with attention to loading manuals
