I've been working with my 41mag TC contender for a very long time now.

Time and time again my loaded ammo, for whatever reason just won't chamber.

First it's because of too much crimp, then it's because the boolit is too fat and bulges the case too much. By a 1/2 a thousanth but it won't chamber so, frustration abounds.

In addition equipment has caused grief too. I found out after a long tedious testing that Dillon dies are just not set up for cast.

Those went out the door and in came some old dies I picked up at a gunshow.

Well these are not marked on what they are for and I guessed at the use of one.

In pure frustration on this last die that I though was a sizing die I just full length sized a piece of brass and went from there.

Afterwards I looked at it and it had the funniest shape, bottle necked looking.

I finally put it away and just went to go stew on it some.

Well, it's NOT a sizing die, it's a crimp die!

DOH! Well I now see my problem. I need a sizing die! I don't have one.

I'm so upset with this junk I went and ordered a NEW RCBS carbide 3 die set in 41 mag. Very soon you may see some CHEAP 41 stuff for sale...

Maybe maybe, MAYBE, now I can load some decent ammo without having to nitpick it all to get 5 rounds loaded.

My 41mag dies from RCBS came in today.

I proceeded to use them to great effect!

I loaded 20 test rounds using my usual method of loading.

All 20 rounds would chamber perfectly in my TC. YEA!

Problem solved!

Having the proper tools for the job is vitally important, as you've found out. I've tried improvising several times. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.
