In a couple different rifles. I've been doing my usual, start too high, work back down routine with loads in both my parkerized 92/96 Krag and my K31. Bullets were from Don Eagan nose pour molds, the MX2-30H a 185gr truncated cone bullet in the Krag, and the MX3-30AR which fits the throat of my K31 perfect.

I've been shooting the same velocity in the Krag for three range sessions now. Charges have ranged from 37.5gr of DP85 down to 36gr, but velocity has remained the same. Reason is I changed other variables, primer type, and the amount of Puf-Lon. I'm using the Puf-Lon in this load because this particular Krag has a reverse-taper groove diameter. It tapers from .308" in the throat to .310 at the muzzle". I finally did get the bullet to go slower with a charge of 35gr, but accuracy went away. Guess Mr. Eagan just meant this bullet to go fast.

With the MX-3-30AR in the K31 I've been working down from 28.5gr of the SPP210, a Swiss made 4198 clone. Accuracy at 2158fps was good, but not what I was looking for. 25.7 is giving me more of what I had in mind. I'm going down another .2gr and taking it to shoot in the CBA's Hunter Class Saturday.
