Browsing the Lyman catalog, I saw their number 2 tang sight for the model 1894 but they say it also fits the model 1892.

I have several M92's, a couple in .25-20 and one in .44-40 and the issue sights aren't working well for 69 year-old eyes, would this tang sight fit them? Does it mount in the two existing hole, just using longer screws?

Yes, and Brownell's has them.

Looks like Brownell's carries the Marble sight. How much difference is there between the Marble and Lyman's # 2 and which is preferred? With C&R discount, the Marble is about $100 at Brownell's.

I have a 25/20 and a 32/20 that I want to hunt with, a tang sight would be a big improvement. I am reluctant to fit a reciever sight (althought the 25/20 has already been drilled for one of these).

not only are the tang sights damn pretty, but they are dead on accurate as well; especially for those of us that don't have the young mans eyes any more

I have a Lyman Tang on my M92. Great sight and has paid for itself on the Range and out Hunting. If I had more cash initially I would have bought the Marbles Tang as they are windage adjustable. The Lyman needs to be shimmed to adjust windage.

Having the peep so close to your eye is a big plus.

I have a couple of these on my 2 92's and they work just fine, very reasonably priced and they are windage and elevation adjustable. Any one of the top 3 fit the 92, you will need a longer tang screw and they can be had from Lyman, marbles or Brownells.

Fecmech, good tip, i it works out! I called Taurus and the nice lady said they were out of stock and she wasn't sure they were still making them as they no longer were making the rifles but she took my info and will get back with me!

Do a search for Taurus Tang sights. Very recently they were available on EBay and somewhere else that I can't remember. Good luck

The Marbles is adjustable for both elevation and windage, the lyman just elevation IIRC.
