Anybody know where I can find the 45 LC barrel for the H&R 1871 "Buffalo Classic"...or whatever it is called in the 45 lc configuration. Have it in 45/70 & 38/55...thought the little 45 would fun play with. Good little deer gun when hopped up. H&R doesn't carry them anymore. Thanks, Scott

Scott,

You know about the Greybeard site don't you? Here: http://www.go2gbo.com/forums/index.php/board,126.0.html

That should get you started. It's called the Buffalo Carbine just so you know what to ask for. Good luck, and welcome to this site.

I have one (Sorry, not for sale) and it says "Classic Carbine" on the barrel, nothing about "Buffalo" like the 45/70 with the much longer barrel. The verbage is confusting, but as far as I can tell the "Buffalo classic" is only available in 45/70 Gov't. Mine, with 20" blued barrel, looks like this:

Some are still for sale. When they are gone, there are no more being made. I believe last was made in 2008. I love mine, but once in a great while, a barrel will show up on the GBO classifieds.
