I am looking for a supply of very lightweight 'button bullets' or something similar for a .45 AR revolver. Probably 140-160 grain weight.

Does anyone know who makes them or a mould maker that offers moulds.

Not real sure what you mean by "Button Boolits".
But Lee makes a turd boolit mold in 160 grains. (http://leeprecision.com/xcart/MOLD-DC-452-160-RF.html)
By AR, I presume you mean you have a revolver that is calibered for what would normally be used in an automatic type platform.
Like a revolver chambered for 45 ACP? (I'm thinking about one of those myself)

Perhaps AR means Auto Rim?

I load 454 RB in my 45 Auto Rim for use in a Colt New Service.

Ho Boy!
I think you are right.
Look at this: (http://www.hipowersandhandguns.com/Corbon%2045%20AR%20DPX%20Ammo%20Test.htm)

And I would imagine you would not want any of those mixed up in your 45 ACP brass. :-(

Look up Springfield Slim and buy some of his EPP-UG bullets. They weigh the same as a round ball but carry lots of lube. Made for black powder shooting but work fine with nitro powder too.

Some of the commercial guys used to supply a 155 gr SWC in .452", that I called the
"thumbtack boolit" because the SWC nose was so skinny. Look for an online commercial
seller.

I think that he is talking about the Lyman 457130 "collar button" boolit. Molds for those things are like hens teeth to find.

Edit:
These guys seem to still cast them - http://www.westernbullet.com/45riflecaliber.html

Another boolit that might fit the bill is Lyman's 452389, although it might be heavier than the OP was looking for. I wouldn't mind finding a 457130 four cavity mould to shoot from my ROA, or even to size down to .452 and shoot from one of my 45LC's. While going down to .452 would normally be a big squeeze, I think with that design it shouldn't be a problem, first because there's not that much lead contact, and the lube groove is huge, so it shouldn't go away when sized down (I would imagine that mould would drop boolits around .460 or so, so it would be sizing down .008" which normally would be excessive).

You might have to pan lube (Lee push thru die) in .452. And there you go.Dick Dasterly's Big Lube molds (http://www.biglube.com/BulletMolds.aspx?ItemID=d3fb4508-70e1-4d9b-87bd-6d9c2d504d33&Quantity=1)

I have a Taurus .45 ACP Tracker. It shoot ACP with full clips which I find a nuisance as I don't use the gun so that speedy reloading is important.

I use the Cowboy .45 Special brass which is has the same dimensions as a .45 ACP ccase but has a thin standard thickness rim that facilitates extraction. The 'real' .45 AR has a much thicker rim. The clips are a pain if one is in the field and fires a couple of shots and wants to replace a few fired rounds with live ones.

I want a very light bullet for plinking and pest shooting around the farm .

That NEI mould .451-158-BB Looks like it might work and I will check on Springfield Slim's bullets too.

Thanks fellows.
