OK gentlemen I have a rossi 223 heavy barrel that I am having one heck of a time keeping my scope rail tight on. Now I realize that thread locker is going to come up in this conversation but what I am having problems with is that the screws that are used on this mount only thread in about 3 turns before running out of threads. They appear to be a fine thread #6. This is something that I cannot find in a longer screw. Looking for some advice on how to keep the scope mount from loosening up every time I shoot the darn thing. Thanks

Look at Brownell's or Midway's website for some longer screws. You may also want to buy a bottoming tap to clean the threads all the way to the bottom of the hole. You probably have 6 X 48 screws.

Brownell's also has a little device to hold these small screws so you can file them shorter if you need to.
