Was thinking about trying some AA8700 in the 308 Win. with a 311284 lyman. Has anyone tried this?

Have not tried it myself, have a lb of it. Accurate recommends a mag primer with this powder.
The Accurate #2 manual has no listings for ACC8700 in the .308.

One will find

150 (L) 46.6 1796 49.0 1891

No pressures given, but I am willing to bet they are low.

Bet it is perfect lead Boolit powder up to 210 grains, especially for me since I have a BUNCH of it just sitting there collecting dust.

I need a Mauser action to screw that new 308 Milsurp barrel on to for cast Boolit shoothing.

Imagine me getting off my duff and using one of those (soft) Spanish actions.

Hmmmm sounds like a winter project on the hoof.

Thanks, I was thanking that even with the 311284 at 220gr it would be safe to load with a compress load and mag primer. I do not believe you could get enough 8700 in to cause any problems. I like the load you have listed, I do have some 180gr bullets as well :Fire:
